What are the defining factors when choosing a new property? As Realtors we are aware of, and reminded on a daily basis, that it can be very difficult to eliminate emotion from the process. Recently “realtor.ca” conducted a poll asking what are the conditions you consider most when purchasing a property. A lot of the answers were financial (such as price and resale value), however some answers might surprise you.

A great deal of respondents surprisingly mentioned the neighbourhood and surrounding neighbours as a major factor. Having neighbours that you trust builds community and a pride of ownership directly affects property value. We crave safety, community, and peace of mind, the right neighbourhood will provide that.
